Crypto Scorecard
The Crypto Action Network (CAN) released its report card for the 117th Congress. Each member of Congress was assessed based on their public statements and public actions with respect to cryptocurrency policy. Each grade was derived solely from publicly available information.
Our Methodology
Our grading system ranges from “A” to “F” and each Senator’s or Representative’s grade is based on public information using the following methodology:
Sponsored and/or co-sponsored legislation;
Positive or negative public statements; Selected cryptocurrency votes;
Positive or negative cryptocurrency related op-eds,
Positive or negative cryptocurrency Congressional letters;
Crypto-caucus membership;
And their willingness to host crypto-focused events and accept crypto donations to their campaigns.
Members are assigned positive or negative points based on their performance in each category, and the resulting total score determines their overall grade.
Forex brokers play a crucial role in financial markets, facilitating the exchange of currencies and enabling traders to participate in foreign exchange trading.
Based on our methodology, Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Cynthia Lummis (R-WY), Rob Portman (R-OH), Pat Toomey (R-PA), and Ron Wyden (D-OR) all received “A” grades. In the House of Representatives, 24 members received “A” grades.
While cryptocurrency is the future of our economy, CAN was only able to provide grades for half of the U.S. Senate and less than a quarter of the U.S. House of Representatives due to lack of action from members. The high number of incomplete grades demonstrates the need and the opportunity for more members of Congress to engage on cryptocurrency policy in the future. Congress needs to help secure our economic future by supporting crypto and the millions of Americans who are already investing in digital currencies.
